OS
MasterMap®
OS MasterMap is a continually updated and maintained database for
the whole of Great Britain. It contains a variety of information
structured into different product layers consisting of topography,
roads, aerial imagery and addresses. |
| OS MasterMap® Topography Layer
Topography Layer is a detailed, intelligent, geographic database.
It contains almost half a billion features from the built and natural
landscape of Britain.
Detailed and surveyed to a high degree of accuracy, the Topography
Layer is continually revised to incorporate changes to the urban
and rural environment. It consists of nine themes: land area classifications;
buildings; roads, tracks and paths; rail; water; terrain and height;
heritage and antiquities; structures; and administrative boundaries.
Data supply and change only update
OS MasterMap can be supplied in GML or MapInfo format depending
upon system and usage. Pricing is calculated by a density model
for settlement, rural or moorland classes per square kilometre.

ADDRESS-POINT® |
|
ADDRESS-POINT is a dataset that uniquely defines and locates residential,
business and public postal addresses in Great Britain. It is created
by matching information from Ordnance Survey digital map databases
with more than 27 million addresses recorded in the Royal Mail®
Postcode Address File (PAF®).
Each address has a unique Ordnance Survey ADDRESS-POINT reference
(OSAPR). In addition, ADDRESS-POINT carries a status flag to define
the quality and accuracy of each address as well as indicators for
change and source currency.

GB single user licence price £16,562.50 |
Code-Point®
|
|
Code-Point provides a precise geographical location for each postcode
unit in the United Kingdom. There are approximately 1.7 million
postcode units in England, Scotland and Wales, with Northern Ireland's
BT postal area accounting for approximately 46 900 postcodes. Each
postcode unit, such as KY12 8UP or PO14 2RS, contains an average
of fifteen adjoining addresses.
Features and benefits
- An economical planning or marketing tool for users not requiring
individual addresses.
- Includes National Health Service and local government area codes
down to ward level.
- Includes number of delivery addresses for domestic and non-domestic
per postcode
- Geographical location for Code-Point is taken from Ordnance
Survey's Addressing data.

Code-point®
with Polygons |
|
Code-point with Polygons are produced by tessellating individual
address records from ADDRESS-POINT®, they are then nested within
the sector boundaries prescribed by Royal Mail®. Code-Point
polygons enclose every fully matched address in the correct boundary
and are significantly more accurate than previous products of this
type.
Features and benefits
- A boundary clearly showing the extent of each postcode unit,
enabling non-addressable data to be analysed on a postcode basis.
- Allows results to be related to local authority and National
Health areas.
- Includes Vertical Streets (VA), that identify more than one
postcode in a single building, for example a block of flats.

1:10,000
Scale Colour Raster |
|
1:10,000 Scale Colour Raster
As one of the range of backdrop mapping products, the 1:10,000 Scale
Raster map data is the most detailed product in the raster portfolio,
providing large-scale background mapping upon which you can add
or overlay information.
Its level of feature detail makes 1:10,000 Scale Raster particularly
useful for analysing data within urban and rural areas. For example,
overlaying your own database onto a backdrop of 1:10,000 Scale map
data gives you a visual interpretation of areas where your customers
or assets are concentrated, providing a powerful planning and marketing
tool.

OS
VectorMap Local |
|
OS VectorMap Local is a national vector dataset supplied in Geography
Markup Language (GML). It has been derived from OS Landplan data
and has been generalised to view between scales of 1:3000 to 1:20,000.
OS VectorMap Local is the first Ordnance Survey product that provides
contextual data enabling businesses to add their own content and
display for backdrop mapping.
The features are supplied as points, lines, polygons and text, and
the data has around 130 different types of feature code.

Features and benefits
- The data is a vector product supplied in GML format.
- Supplied as points, lines, polygons and text.
- Off-the-shelf standard map styles enable the user to create
bespoke content in a GIS.
- You can tailor your mapping to support users with colour vision
deficiencies.
- Buildings, and important buildings.
- 5 km by 5 km tiles edge matched to create a dataset without
overlaps or joins.
GB single user licence price £37,500 |
Points
of Interest |
| Points of Interest is a
dataset of around 3.9 million geographic and commercial features
across Great Britain - all highlighting location and function information,
and with a postal address for all postally addressable Points.
Points of Interest has a highly developed three-level classification
system to help you identify the features you are interested in.
And this might be anything from accommodation (for a business traveller
or tourist) through landscape features (for planning uses or the
emergency services) to transport links (from rail and air to bus
and tram users).
Each Points of Interest feature is provided with a national grid
coordinate so it can be visualised as a point on a digital mapping
system. When Points of Interest is combined with mapping, it becomes
a powerful component in a modern, detailed location-based application.
top of page |

- The Points of Interest dataset contains over 600 different types
of feature structured within a three tiered classification system
that provides a flexible means of identifying and ordering just
the data that you are interested in.
- The dataset is provided in a common 'text' file format which
is easy to store in spreadsheets, databases and GIS.
- The product is regularly updated with new information and these
updates are provided to you under the terms of your license.

shape of the landscape of Great Britain.
The 1:10,000 scale digital height dataset is available as either
contours or a digital terrain model (DTM) covering the whole of
Great Britain.
It provides a consistent foundation for 3D modelling applications,
to maximise the potential of your information and enable exciting
fly-through models.

Features and benefits
- A national dataset consisting of edge-matched contours and DTM
tiles.
- Contours are indexed every 25 metres (50 metres in mountainous
areas).
- The contour dataset includes mean high water and mean low water
marks in England and Wales, and mean high and low water springs
in Scotland.
- The contour dataset also includes spot heights on significant
features in low-lying areas and along linear features.
- The DTM's 10-metre grid offers a manageable file size for most
desktop GIS
GB single user licence price £5480 |
Land-Form
PROFILE® Plus |
| Land-Form PROFILE Plus
is a high-specification digital terrain model (DTM) for the whole
of Great Britain - a continuous bare earth model of the ground surface,
with all surface features such as trees, buildings and bridges removed.
It supports sophisticated environmental risk assessments, including
flooding and pollution management, in addition to a range of applications
in the engineering, planning and insurance industries.
Accurate and targeted content
In England and Wales, high-accuracy Lidar data is targeted at floodplains,
the coastal zone, urban areas and key communication routes. This
data has a 15-25 centimetre root mean square error (RMSE) accuracy
and a grid resolution of 2 metres - sufficiently detailed to represent
key terrain features such as cuttings and embankments.
Base-accuracy data is targeted at rural and moorland areas where
high accuracy data is less desirable. It is derived from Land Form
PROFILE® and has a grid resolution of 10 metres, which models
landscapes appropriately for the geography, but with the benefit
of a greatly reduced data volume.
The result is a product designed to support specialist GIS and CAD
applications that require high accuracy and resolution.
